Design

We are a hi tech company and use computers extensively. All design is done using the latest licensed design software.

It all starts with the design. Using Computer Aided Design (CAD) we draw the wing with root & tip sections. these sections can be from our 2000+ database or your own design. If required composite or wooden spars can be added.

Our primary design software is Step Four's Wing designer. This software is very powerful. Apart from the the design tools, we find this software indespensable because it will create cutting files for the CNC foam cutter at the click of a button. No templates no errors and easy to modify.

In addition to accepting files from users of Step Four Wing Designer, we can also accept files from Compufoil 2000 & Profili 2. This means you can design your models and send us the files for quote. We also use the software for tweaking & checking designs and converting between formats.

If you only have a picture or plan of the section, we have software & techniques to scan and create the section from these designs. It is using these techniques that enable us to have magazines plans available as soon as the magazines are in the shops. We also have a large number of plans collected over the years.

Once we have the design the next step is to manufacture.
